Is there any treatment? No cure has been found for atopic dermatitis but there are treatments that can help alleviate the symptoms and make this condition more tolerable. Topical medications such as Tacrolimus and crisaborole can be prescribed to help. Injectable medication such as Dupixent can also be prescribed. Dupixent works by lowering inflammation that can lead to eczema flare-ups. Using at home remedies can also alleviate symptoms. For patients that are struggling with atopic dermatitis on the full body, light therapy treatments are a great option. Light therapy uses UV light to help reduce inflammation. Those with eczema should learn to recognize what can trigger a flare-up. Using mild soaps with no fragrence and keeping the skin moistuized will help to not irritate the affected areas.
